YEARBOOKS
...
Yearbooks are on sale We have approximately 10 yearbooks
left
to sell.  They are $25.00 and are being sold on a first-come.. first-serve
basis
.  Students can see Mrs. Campbell in Room 300 before school to purchase
a yearbook.  All students who have purchased a yearbook will be given their copy
on Wednesday, June 5, 2013... so they can bring it to the End-Of-The-Year FlashBash.

....  In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I would
like to THANK all of our teachers for their hard work and dedication to our students.

    the Fall
Cheerleading Try-Outs for next year.  Try-Outs will be on Wed.

SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMP... For incoming 7th thru 12th Grade Volleyball
Players
in the Jackson Area.  We have been given information and registration forms about
this year's Summer Volleyball Skills Camp being held at Columbia Central High School.  This
camp is being offered to our students by "All-American Volleyball Camps" (from the West Coast). 
It is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, 2013 thru Saturday, July 27, 2013. It will feature
3 days of two.. 2 1/2 hour sessions focusing on teaching technique & perfecting each volleyball
skill. Deadline to register is Saturday, June 15, 2013.  For more information, please have
your student stop in the KMS Office.

DRESS CODE REMINDER... With warm weather approaching... we would
like to remind you and your student of our SCHOOL DRESS CODE policy.
To
see our full dress code policy, please refer to the KMS Student Handbook
           which is posted on the
www.nwschools.org  website.**

     NO EXTREME ATTIRE... Your student's attire should not be extreme nor
         should it interfere with the instruction process in class. 

     NO.. TANK TOPS, crop shirts, bare midriffs, boxers, sagging pants,
         pajama pants or
any piece of clothing that allows your child's
         undergarments to be seen.
 


     NO... PANTS W/ HOLES ABOVE THE KNEE

     SHORTS/SKIRTS... Your child's shorts and/or skirts can NOT be any
         shorter
than 3 1/2 inches from their knee (the length of a credit
         card/drivers license).

     NO... items of clothing with profanity and/or vulgar suggestions or
         messages.

     NO... items of clothing that promote tobacco, tobacco companies, the use
         of tobacco, drugs and/or alcohol.

     NO... HATS or bandanas

                 **1st Violation - Warning. Student is allowed to call home for other
                     clothes or can find other clothes to change into.  Once the student
                     has
changed they can return to class.

                 **ALL further violations -  Student is Suspended from school.  Parent
                     is called to come pick them up.

SPRING BAND & CHOIR CONCERT... 
The Spring Band & Choir Concert for this year
has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the JCC Potter Center. The Spring
concert is great to attend, as it will feature all of the Band and Choir students from the
2012-2013 School Year.  It allows the students to show how much they have improved
since the beginning of the year. 
More information from Mr. Cumings and Mr. Figlewicz about
the concert will be sent home with your student as the date gets closer.  If you have any
questions or if you need further information, please feel free to contact them.


NW HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2013 GRADUATION....  Graduation for the NW High
School Class of 2013 is scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2013 @ 7:00pmWeather
permitting... Graduation will be held outside in the Mountie Stadium.  Otherwise, graduation
will have to be moved to the NW High School Gymnasium to be held indoors.



ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION GRADUATION... 
Our Class of 2013.. Alternative Education
students will be having their graduation ceremony on Wednesday, May 29, 2013
@ 6:30pm in the Kidder Middle School Gymnasium

NO SCHOOL... Monday, May 27, 2013 -  Memorial Day


END OF THE YEAR CLASS TRIPS...  The dates for our end-of-the-year class field trips
are fast approaching.  The 6th Grade Class will be going to the IMAX 3-D Theatre in Lansing
on Tuesday, May 28, 2013
They will be watching "Born to Be Wild 3D" and "Deep Sea 3D"
The 7th Grade Class will be going to Full Blast (the indoor/outdoor water park in Battle Creek)
on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 and the 8th Grade Class will be going to Somerset on
Thursday, May 30, 2013
.  These trips are looked at as rewards to the students for their
hard work and good behavior this year.  In order for your student to be able to join their
classmates on these trips they will need to have ALL of their "FEES & FINES" paid in full
BEFORE
the permission
slip deadline listed for their class.   More information about each
trip will be sent home with your child in the next week or so.  Some trips will have stipulations listed
and ALL of the trips will have a registration deadline.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the
stipulations and/or deadlines this year.  So remind your students to turn in their forms and to pay
attention to everything listed on the permission slip. 


ACADEMIC AWARDS...
  Our Academic Awards will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013
in the Kidder Middle School Gym.  The 6th Grade will begin at 7:45am with the 7th Grade
starting at 8:45am and the 8th Grade at 10:00am.  We welcome parents, grandparents,
friends and family to join us in these ceremonies. 


FINAL EXAMS...  The 3rd Trimester Final Exams have been scheduled for June 4th thru
the 6th.  The students will be given one last chance to review for their exams in class on
Monday, June 3, 2013 & Tuesday, June 4, 2013.  The exam schedule will be as follows: 

        Tuesday, June 4, 2013
               5th & 6th Hour Exams in the morning w/ in-class review for 4th, 3rd, 2nd &
               1st hour in the late-morning / afternoon.

        Wednesday, June 5, 2013
               4th & 3rd Hour Exams in the morning w/ in-class review for 2nd & 1st hour in
               the late-morning / afternoon.

        Thursday, June 6, 2013
               1st & 2nd Hour Exams in the morning.  Students dismissed at 10:37am


FLASHBASH...  Each year we allow the students who have purchased a yearbook to come
down to the gym to for FLASH BASH.  Students will be able to have their yearbook signed by
classmates, friends and staff as well as take end-of-the-year photos with their friends.  This
year Flashbash is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 1:32 to 2:23pm
Students will be given their yearbooks on that day and it is the ONLY day and the ONLY time
we allow students to bring a camera to school and take pictures.  Students will NOT be allowed
to have their cameras out until 1:32pm that day.  If you have not yet done so and you wish
to purchase a 2012-2013 yearbook we do have some extras for sale.  They can be purchased
from Mrs. Campbell in room 300 before school.  They are $25.00 and can be purchased on a
first-come... first-serve basis.
